Lisa is back, and this time, she’s introducing herself as a New Woman. She has also brought Rosalía along with her. The BLACKPINK sensation collaborated with the Spanish singer to release a vibrant, Y2K-inspired single, New Woman, on Thursday (August 15), accompanied by an equally catchy music video. “Hit it when I serve/ B—-, you better swerve/ Revving up my, uh-uh-uh-uh-aura/ Focus on my mind/ Taking my time/ I’m a new woman," Lisa sings in the infectious chorus. Rosalía adds a bilingual twist to the track with her verse: “Nací pura, sí/ Ni una era será un flop en mi porvenir/ P—, soy la Rosalía, solo sé servir," which translates to, “I was born pure/ There won’t be a flop era in my future/ W—-, I’m Rosalía, I only know how to serve."
This new track comes a little over a month after the K-pop star started a new chapter in her solo career, releasing Rockstar. The single made its debut at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 and also secured Lisa’s first-ever No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S, informs Billboard.
Fans are ecstatic after watching the music video for New Woman, which is directed by Dave Meyers. “Lalisa is a New Woman now. She is free to do whatever she wants and make her music. She is embracing her talents and herself. She looks more confident in herself now. I love it. She is finally free. Happy for her," a fan commented on the music video.
“The transition of Rosalia and Lisa was so smooth and elegant," another fan expressed. “The visuals, the details, the beat, the song is so goooood," added someone else.
Both Rockstar and New Woman are significant releases for Lisa as they mark her first projects after signing with RCA Records to further her solo career. This partnership, in collaboration with her own LLOUD company, ensures that Lisa retains ownership of her master recordings. “I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family, and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career," she reportedly shared in a statement back in April, reports Billboard.
