HYBE Faces Backlash For Allegedly Overworking Its Artists Following TXT Star Soobin's Post
On September 15, Soobin shared a series of heartfelt messages, revealing he was struggling with severe fatigue to the point that he could barely manage to eat.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Soobin recently raised concerns among fans after sharing about his deteriorating health on Weverse, shedding light on the intense demands placed on idols by HYBE. On September 15, 2024, Soobin posted several emotional messages, revealing he was suffering from extreme exhaustion to the point where he struggled to eat. Accompanying his heartfelt words with a photo of himself resting, the post sparked immediate outrage, with fans criticising HYBE (BIGHIT MUSIC) for allegedly overworking their artists.

His message read, “Passing out, I’m so tired… I don’t even have the energy to swallow food so I only ate half of it. For starters, I’ll wash up and be back. I might not be back either…”

Fans were quick to respond on social media, expressing their outrage. Many blamed the company for not prioritising the health of their idols. A post from a fan on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted concerns about the group’s relentless schedule.

“Having 3 comebacks in one year while also having a tour and promoting solo endeavours should not be supported! they need REAL breaks that aren’t tied to their injuries and exhaustion PLEASE help by joining the boycott.”

A fan commented, “They deserve that rest sooo much,” while another added, “the way he texted istg it hurts ugh I hope they all get as much as rest they want.”

One user wrote, “Soobin…aww… Hope you had a good night’s sleep. Eat a lot for breakfast. Take care, babe,” and others voiced concern about the timing of their short break, with a fan writing, “So do their super short break starts today I’m worried about them after what soobin said on weverse dm.”

Concerns about TXT’s intense workload have been mounting for a while. The group’s packed world tour schedule, along with the upcoming release of a new album, has added to their already overwhelming list of commitments.

Fans haven’t been quiet about their worries, with one commenting, “These idols are not silent about their abuse, y’all just don’t listen,” while another accused HYBE of exploitation, saying, “Yall are letting hybe get away with literally abusing their artists, their employees bad-mouthing their top artists, overworking them till they pass out, not defending them, do yall even CARE about your favs!”

Another fan added, “Tell me ONE hybe artist that isnt being mistreated exploited or overworked to the ground. hybe sees them as NOTHING BUT INCOME GENERATING OBJECTS. if u genuinely care abt them & want better for them, boycott!!”

The ongoing discussion around Soobin’s health has further ignited concerns about the increasing frequency of injuries among HYBE artists. Recently, ENHYPEN’s Jay had to pull out of a performance due to a knee injury, and fellow member Jake was seen wearing bandages during their shows, reports Koreaboo.

Fans have taken notice of the concerning trend of recurring injuries among the company’s artists. Although injuries are common in the K-pop industry, the rate of incidents within HYBE has reportedly raised red flags. This year alone, members of groups like TXT, NewJeans, ILLIT, and SEVENTEEN have had to take time off due to leg-related injuries.
