The Queen of Tears featuring Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won ended last week yet the buzz surrounding the series doesn’t seem to fade away among fans. Since its premiere, the drama garnered the love and attention of K-drama fans worldwide and surprisingly, the series even surpassed the viewership record set by Crash Landing on You. The on-screen chemistry between Soo Hyun and Ji Won, who played Hong Hae In and Baek Hyun Woo respectively, was a major highlight, as they won audiences’ hearts.
Recently, Kim Ji Won delighted fans by sharing a bunch of behind-the-scenes pictures from the set, featuring various filming locations and costumes. Accompanying the photos, the actress also shared a sweet message and thanked her fans for their support, along with wishes for their well-being.
The pictures shared by Kim Ji Won offer a glimpse of some of the memorable moments from the series. In one photo, she elegantly poses in her bridal dress from the show, while another captures her at the Hong House. Additionally, Ji Won is seen posing at the memorable location where Kim Soo Hyun’s character, Baek Hyun Woo, proposed to her character, Hong Hae In. The final picture features her sitting at Baek Hyun Woo’s family supermarket in Yongduri village. In the series, Ji Won plays the CEO of the Queens department store, while Hyun Woo is shown as the legal director of Queens group. Sharing the pictures, Kim Ji Won wrote, “Thank you all for supporting the Queen of Tears. May you all be healthy and happy.”

Just a week after the finale, the makers of Queen of Tears released a special episode titled Miracle Record.zip. In this episode, the cast spoke about emotional and memorable moments from the show. Talking about the same, Kim Soo Hyun said, “The most memorable episode was that the epilogue part of episode 10, which I received a lot of praises. The part I said ‘I love you Hae In’ was very memorable.”
While Ji Won shared, “I think it’s the 7th episode. There were many tense scenes where Hyun-woo and Hae-in’s emotional goals and conflicts were explained and resolved, and then they moved on to a new phase. These were scenes where I focused on more because I wanted to do better while filming, but as those scenes continued, I forgot to monitor my acting and was more immersed in the drama as one of the viewers.”
According to Nielsen Korea, the final episode of Queen of Tears had a viewership rating of 24.9%, surpassing the 21.7% rating held by Crash Landing on You. With such a rating, Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won starrer has been crowned as the highest rated tvN drama ever. While the first episode of Crash Landing on You fetched 6.1% and Queen of Tears had 5.9%, the latter broke the mark following the release of 4th episode. Interestingly, the first 13 episodes of Queen of Tears had an average rating of 10%, compared to 9 for Crash Landing on You.
