Not only the ripe but also the raw papaya is very beneficial for the body. It contains natural elements that cleanse the stomach, which can provide relief from chronic constipation. Patients suffering from constipation should consume papaya daily. It can strengthen our digestive system and relieve digestive problems.
Dr Saroj added that papaya has high fibre content which can cleanse the stomach and improve bowel movements. It also contains a special enzyme papain which reduces inflammation in the body and helps in staying healthy. Eating the fruit can provide relief from indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux and stomach ulcers. The fruit controls body weight and helps detoxify the body. In Ayurveda, papaya is considered beneficial for heart health. It can prevent the deposition of dirty cholesterol in the veins. It is considered good for skin health and is effective in controlling skin eczema.
According to Ayurveda experts, raw papaya is more beneficial than ripe one. Eating it raw can improve your health. Diabetics should eat it in limited quantities.
