How to Remove Tan from the Skin in Summers
If you are someone who is looking for some easy-peasy hacks, then this is your stop

Summer is all about staying hydrated and staying away from tans. We try various hacks to keep tan at bay. Even after repeated attempts, we, at times, fail to achieve the desired result. If you are someone who is looking for some easy-peasy hacks, then this is your stop.

Dermatologist Dr Aanchal has shed light on this through her Instagram. She posted a video of her suggesting ways to remove suntan. She says, “If we didn’t tan, we would burn. So tanning is actually protecting our skin from premature aging.” She further explains that the duration the tan stays on our skin depends on multiple factors including how dark was the tan and how much daily sun exposure we get. “Let’s say after a vacation if you are primarily indoors, the tan will come off in 6-8 weeks,” she explained. She added that the body tan takes longer to wear off than the facial tan due to being darker.

But tanned skin may not be desirable for everyone. People who want to remove tan should follow the tips given by Dr. Aanchal:

Sun exposure

The more your skin is exposed to skin, the more it will be tanned. Hence, wearing protective clothing like full sleeves shirts and using an umbrella can immensely help with protecting your skin from tanning.

Wear a sunscreen

Applying sunscreen to protect your skin from being directly exposed to the sun helps in preventing tan. Otherwise, no cream can work well for the skin.

Use creams containing these acids

Glycolic acid, grande emit acid or licorice extract, kojic acid, lactic acid are all acids that help in accelerating the de-tanning process. Use glycolic acid 6% for your face and glycolic acid 12% for your body.
