Dr Sonia Rawat, Director, Preventive Health and Wellness Department, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, said in a recent media interaction that taking a bath at night during the summer is very beneficial. Running around all day, sweat, dirt, and toxic substances accumulate in people’s bodies. It is harmful to our health. So, taking a bath at night cleans the body and gives one a good sleep at night. One can bathe with both cold or warm water at night.

Bathing at night can also help to reduce stress and improve mood. It also keeps the skin healthy. She further said that one can bathe with fresh water in any season. But only people with strong immunity can take a bath with cold water.

Dr Sonia Rawat said that bathing at night is beneficial, but people should keep a few things in mind.

1. Do not take a bath immediately after dinner, as doing so will cause digestive problems. Actually, after dinner, our body becomes active for digestion. Bathing during this time can affect this process. People should take a bath at least 1-2 hours before dinner and sleep.

2. The most important thing is that as soon as one gets out of bed in the morning, one should not jump out of bed immediately, but instead wake up and rest their body on the bed for two minutes.

3. During the changing season, people often catch a cold, cough, or suffer from a fever. So during this time, one should avoid taking a cold shower, as they may fall sick.
