New Delhi: For decades commercials have played an instrumental role in waging a war against drugs. From explaining the reasons because of which kids turn to drugs to its detrimental effect on one’s health, the ad industry has done whatever it can to spread awareness.
Interestingly, Punjabi icon Gurdas Maan has also launched an Anti Drug Campaign which is aimed at making people stay away from drugs. To amplify the message of healthy and peaceful living, the popular singer asks his fans (via a video) to upload videos and use hashtag #GMAgainstDrugs #TheChallaRequest on Twitter/Facebook. To express their support to the cause, one ought to speak against drugs, spread the ‘Challa’ request by crooning the ‘Challa’ song and also nominate 3 people to spread the word.
While speaking exclusively to IBNLive.com, Gurdas Mann not only drew attention to the need to curb drug abuse among the youth, but also explained how the idea came into origin. “Yeh shuru Gurikk Maan, mere bete hai unse hua. Usne kahaa ki aapne apney gaano ke zareiye bahut sandesh de liye. Kuch ab aisa kaam kaerein ki new generation jagritt ho jaye, awareness aa jaye ki jo nashaa hai, jo ki itna heavy ho gaya hai, Punjab ki sar zameen ko yeh deemak ki tarah lag gaya hai," he said.
The iconic singer also spoke about how Virat Kohli's passion for cricket has been misinterpreted and a lot more.
