Restaurant Review: The Vault Cafe
Restaurant Review: The Vault Cafe
The moment we entered the much talked about, happening hangout in CP, we were immediately transported to a different zone.

Eating out is just so not only about the food! So if you too look beyond a filling meal, and find - a buzzing ambiance, cool crowd, not-so-cliched setting, and a menu that can turn things on its head - interesting The Vault Café is where you should head out to party. Tucked away in the F block of Connaught Place, The Vault Café is a hidden gem amid other eateries solely because it is slightly hidden from view for those strolling through the area. Even though there is always an assistant right outside the lift who escorts you to the restaurant, the café needs to be highlighted a lot more. However, whether you have been to this place earlier or managed to spot it on your maiden visit, you're in for a treat.

Décor: While the food on offer is quite clearly enough to rave about, The Vault Café offers interesting chat zones, private space (though you aren’t allowed to shut doors) to accompany your feast. The moment we entered the much talked about, happening hangout in CP, we were immediately transported to a different zone. A huge metal door was thrown open so that we could spend one of the most cherished afternoons this winter.

True to its name, the place looked a bit wicked, a bit dark (dim lit in red tones), and in which only the leather sofas and wine cellars stood out. Whether you want to sit inside, and enjoy the live telecast of the match (played on a huge screen) or grab a table out in the sun or simply shut yourself with your group of friends in a private room, the café offers everything. Even though we visited the café on a Tuesday afternoon, we were surprised by the number of guests – mostly youngsters present.

Food: Choosing the best food items from the extremely extensive menu that the café offers is quite a task. While we had a difficulty in opting for bestest options from the listed items, we also lauded the team for putting together so many global dishes on the menu. Truly incredible!

Vault No 1857 is an absolute bliss. While Old Fashioned, Raspberry Swizzle and Mai Tai are recommended in cocktails, you can consider Coffee Surprise, Kiwi Hour and Melon Breeze for mocktails. If you happen to visit the cafe in a huge group, we would want you to give Vaulted Chest a shot. Strawberry Mango Smoothie which we ordered was amazingly refreshing. Meant to be thick, just one sip of the smoothie was sufficient to make us feel full. We were quite impressed with Vault Fruit Bull. The combination of peach, watermelon, ginger and lime gave a flavorful twist to the red bull. Similarly Watermelon and Kaffir lemonade - which includes a muddled Kaffir and watermelon topped with lemonade – is unmissable.

The list of starters including Chicken Nuggets, Black and White Sesame Fish Fingers, Mushroom Satay, Crispy Honey Chicken, Shish Taowk with Toum Sauce is undoubtedly irresistible. While the Falafel Wrap was crispy and crunchy, the pasta looked delectable with cheesy toppings and perfect flavour.

The hot, fresh and sizzling Pav served with spicy Bhaji is a must have, while the Vada Pao might look just too much for a single person. Almost double the size of a normal Vada Pao, The Vault Café’s speciality was both soft and filling. The Lamb Shami Kabab, Grilled Tenderloin in Red Wine reduction are as amazing as the Wild Mushroom Bruschetta and Authentic Red Bean Burger.

After such a delicious, hearty meal, we indulged in a yummy dessert. The Chocolate Brownie and ice cream was perfect to satisfy our sweet tooth.

Our Opinion: This vault will take you on an incredible culinary journey.
