In a rather exciting development, the royal couple, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton attended a grand reception with the biggest names in the film industry. From Shahrukh Khan to Sachin Tendulkar, every who's who was spotted at the Taj Mahal Paalace where the dinner was held.
While Kate Middleton looked gorgeous in a Jenny Packham sapphire blue gown, Prince William looked every inch royal that he is. Considering the fact that Kate has donned the British designer's creations several times, there's no doubt that the both have a great fashion understanding. Adding an Indian touch to her attire, the Duchess went for a pair of gold earrings by jewellery designer Amrapali. Simple yet elegant! She accessorized her gown with a shawl and a clutch in the shades of matching blue.
Among the big names from the industry; Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari, Alia Bhatt, Manish Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor, Jaqueliene Fernandez and many others graced the red carpet of the gala dinner.
Aishwarya Rai once again proved that she's a timeless beauty. The actress turned up in a pale pink Sabyasachi saree. From the highlighted chikankari work to the beaded clutch, everything about her look is simply drop-dead gorgeous.
Another one to turn heads on the red carpet was Alia Bhatt. The 'Kapoor and Sons' actress opted for a Manish Malhotra gown. It's a breath of fresh air that somebody didn't pick a floor length gown or any dress that is floor-length for that matter. She just keeps getting adorable!
Donning a Manish Malhotra outfit, Jaqueline Fernandez stunned her look on the red carpet. Off-shoulder gown, embellished embroidery, everything about her look for the royal charity dinner deserves a thumbs up.
As graceful as ever, Madhuri Dixit attended the charity gala dinner wearing a Shyamlal and Bhumika saree. She completed her look with a gold Jimmy Choo clutch and an ethnic pair of earrings.
In the recent times, Aditi Rao Hydari has been giving us some serious fashion goals. She picked up a Manish Malhotra ensemble for the evening and needless to say, she pulled it off with sheer elegance. She's quite a regular on fashion shows now.
Shilpa Shetty, who was seen with her husband Raj Kundra, wore a Monisha Jaising pink saree. While the mirrored blouse was the perfect match, the shimmery dots on the saree were a tad bit too much.
Parineeti Chopra's choice of a simple outfit for the big night did wonders for her. She looked beautiful in a crop top paired with a floor-length skirt. The fact that she didn't go for heavy make up also complimented her well.
There are only rare occasions where Sonam Kapoor makes the wrong fashion picks. And this is definitely one of them. She wore an Ellie Saab saree-draped lehenga for the extravaganza. And honestly, she could have done so much better. Maybe, it just wasn't her night to shine.
