Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD is creating havoc at the box office. The epic sci-fi film is directed by Nag Ashwin and stars the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Saswata Chatterjee and Kamal Haasan in the prominent roles. Drawing parallels to Mahabharata and creating a dystopian world with the film, the makers have successfully attracted viewers in theatres. The film is currently enjoying a successful theatrical run since it was released on June 27. The film has been released in six languages. The fans are eagerly waiting for the OTT release of Kalki 2898 AD.
As per the recent updates, the Kalki 2898 AD will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime and Netflix. The film will stream in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, with English subtitles. On Netflix, on the other hand, the Hindi version of the film will be streamed along with English subtitles. The film’s initial digital release was planned for late July, but due to its exceptional performance at the box office, the producers decided to extend its theatrical run. Consequently, the film is now expected to be available on OTT platforms in the second week of September. The makers have not announced the release date yet.
Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced with a budget of Rs 600 crore. The film is expected to garner over Rs 1000 crore by the end of its theatrical run. Kalki 2898 AD created history at the box office by becoming the third biggest opener in Indian cinema, earned a massive Rs 191 crore globally on its opening day. With this huge opening collection, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed the global opening records of KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (Rs 158 crore), Leo (Rs 142.75 crore), Saaho (Rs 130 crore) and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). Rajamouli’s directorial RRR still reigns at the top with an opening collection of Rs 223 crore.
Kalki 2898 AD is jointly produced by C Ashwani Dutt, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
