The song Manasilayo from Rajinikanth’s eagerly anticipated film Vettaiyan has become a viral sensation, captivating audiences with its vibrant beats and high-energy performances. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, this dance track combines infectious rhythms with Malayalam lyrics. The release of Manasilayo has been met with widespread acclaim, with special praise directed towards Manju Warrier’s dynamic and engaging presence in the song.
Some fans think that Manju Warrier has overshadowed even Rajinikanth in the song. Vettaiyan is being released as a pan-India film and we all know that Rajinikanth’s fandom spans across different industries and is a global icon. However, since Manju Warrier has predominantly worked only in Malayalam cinema and is not a pan-India actress, there is widespread curiosity regarding her from the pan-India audience after the release of the song.
Let us tell you that although she may appear much younger on screen, Manju Warrier is 46 years old. She was born into a Malayali family in Tamil Nadu Manju Warrier first appeared on screen in the television serial Moharavam, which aired on Doordarshan. At the age of 17, she made her film debut in Sakshyam in 1995. A year later, she starred in Sallapam, alongside Dileep, whom she later married. Her performance in the film Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu in 1999 won a special mention from the jury for the National Film Awards.
After marrying Dileep, Manju Warrier took a lengthy hiatus from films, stepping away from the industry for 15 years. During this period, she did not appear in any films, focusing instead on her personal life. However, after her divorce in 2015, Manju returned to the film industry with Rosshan Andrrews’s How Old Are You? To the Hindi audience, Manju might be familiar to some due to a commercial she appeared in with Amitabh Bachchan for a jewellery brand.
Meanwhile, apart from Rajinikanth, Vettaiyan boasts of some big names from diverse film industries like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Ritika Singh. The film is slated for release on October 10.
