It is finally here. And it is grand. The first teaser of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' is regal, grand and breathtaking. It has the typical elements of Bhansali's films- big sets, larger than life characters, lots of colours and a tragic love story in the midst of all this grandeur.
Co produced by Eros Now and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film has been in news for many years primarily because of its casting. Bhansali's ambitious project initially was planned with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai soon after 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' had released. The film got delayed and casting kept changing with time. There were also reports that Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor would be doing the film. After several years of delay, Bhansali finally cast his 'Ram Leela' jodi and roped in Priyanka Chopra to play Kashibai.
The film features Ranveer Singh as Maratha king Bajirao and Deepika Padukone plays his lover Mastani. Priyanka Chopra plays Singh's wife in the film. The film is scheduled to release in theaters in December- the same day when Shah Rukh Khan- Kajol starrer 'Dilwale' releases in cinemas. Looks like this one is going to be an epic battle onscreen as well as off screen. Watch the trailer here.
