Celine Dion recently made a dazzling return at the premiere of her documentary I Am: Celine Dion in New York City. This marked her first red-carpet appearance since being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome. At the special event, the Grammy-winning artist looked stunning in an all-white ensemble. Her last major public appearance was at the 66th Grammy Awards on February 4, where she presented Taylor Swift with the Album of the Year award. At the premiere, Celine made a rare appearance alongside her eldest son, Rene-Charles Angelil, who was elegantly dressed in a classic suit.
The upcoming Prime Video documentary delves into Celine’s life and her journey with a rare condition. Through the film, the singer aims to raise awareness and support for those facing isolation during health challenges. At the screening, she personally introduced the documentary and expressed gratitude to everyone involved, including her children. Apart from Rene-Charles Angelil, Celine has two more children, 13-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, with her late husband Rene Angelil, who passed away in 2016 after battling throat cancer.

Before the screening, Celine Dion received a thunderous response as she arrived on stage. As per People, the singer said, “I wouldn’t be here without the daily love and support from my wonderful children. Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my journey. This movie is my love letter to each of you. I barely could walk at one point, and I was missing very much living. My kids started to notice. I was like, ‘OK, they already lost a parent. I don’t want them to be scared’. I let them know, ‘You lost your dad, mom has a condition and it’s different. I’m not going to die. It’s something that I’m going to learn to live with.”
Reportedly, Celine was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in August 2022 and publicly shared the news in December same year. Due to her health issues, she was forced to cancel her tours and underwent treatment that included medication, immune therapy, vocal therapy and physical rehabilitation.
The Amazon Prime Video documentary, I Am: Celine Dion, is set to premiere on June 25.
