In a path-breaking achievement, Telugu Superstar Chiranjeevi Konidela, on Sunday was honoured by the Guinness World Records for being the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Cinema in the actor/dancer category. Over the course of 45 years, the veteran actor has performed almost 24,000 dance moves in 547 songs in 156 films. His dancing repertoire is diverse, encompassing pop, rock, jazz, hip hop, western and Indian classical, demonstrating his versatility and grace. The award was presented to the Godfather actor by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and a member of the Guinness Records team in a special ceremony held in Hyderabad on September 22, which coincides with the day he made his big screen debut in 1978.
“This moment is unforgettable. I never expected to get the Guinness World Records, but it feels incredible to be honoured for my dancing. All these years of my film career, dance has become part of my life,” Chiranjeevi said after receiving the certificate. “I owe this honour to the directors, producers, music directors and choreographers who made sure to showcase my dancing talents in films,” he added.
Aamir Khan, who was among the guests of honour at the event, said, “I am a huge fan of Chiranjeevi Garu and he is like my elder brother. When you watch any of his songs, you can see he has his whole heart in it. So our eyes refuse to stray from him because he is having such a great time, and we get infected with that, which is such a unique quality.”
While congratulating her father-in-law, Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela wrote on X, “Congratulations to my Mamaya Megastar Chiranjeevi Garu for achieving the Guinness World Record as the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Cinema, with 156 films and 24,000+ dance moves across 537 songs in 45 years!”

Apart from her, renowned faces of the Indian entertainment industry such as SS Rajamouli, Prabhudeva and Rishab Shetty among others congratulated the star for this special honour.
In his career spanning 45 years, Chiranjeevi has received 9 Filmfare Awards, 3 Nandi Awards and several Government honours including the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 2006 and Padma Vibhushan in 2024.
Chiranjeevi will be next seen in the Telugu film Vishwambhara, which is slated to hit the theatres in January 2025.
