Kannada star Darshan Thoogudeepa has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons ever since he was arrested in connection to the Renuka Swamy murder case in June this year. While the actor is currently in a Bengaluru jail, it was recently reported that his health condition deteriorated recently following which he fainted. As reported by Money Control, Darshan was feeling unwell for the last few days due to which he fainted in jail.
While the news of Darshan’s health left his fans concerned, it was later revealed that the actor is doing fine. Meanwhile, more details about his health condition are awaited.
Darshan has been in jail for over two months now. He was arrested on June 11 and is being probed in connection to the Renuka Swamy murder case. Swamy was found dead in Bengaluru on June 8, 2024. He used to reportedly work at an Apollo Pharmacy branch in Chitradurga. It has been alleged that Renuka used to send vulgar messages to Kannada actress Pavithra Gowad, a friend of Darshan. Angry about this, Renuka Swamy was murdered and his dead body was allegedly thrown in a canal at Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru in front of Darshan. Reportedly, eight of the accused have implicated Darshan, claiming his presence during Renuka Swamy’s assault.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Darshan is losing weight and his skin is getting pale inside the prison. Reportedly, the actor is spending most of his time reading books in the room. The books include Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata along with autobiographies of names like Yogi and Vivekananda. As per more reports, filmmaker Tarun Sudheer also sent two books to the actor.
Previously, Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi issued her first statement after meeting the actor in jail. She talked about her meeting with Darshan and claimed that he had asked his fans to stay calm. “Call for all our Celebrities – You all know how much Darshan loves you. It is sad that we are in this situation today and that we have to stay at a distance from him. I have spoken to him in detail about the situation outside and it has touched his heart. He has urged all his celebrities to stay calm and focus on doing good deeds and he is sure that he will be part of your prayers,” Vijayalakshmi wrote in Kannada.
Several actors including Telugu star Naga Shaurya, Bigg Boss OTT Kannada fame Sonu Gowda, Rachita Ram and Anusha Rai have also come out in support of Darshan.
