Marvel fans are waiting with bated breaths to watch the upcoming Shawn Levy directorial Deadpool And Wolverine. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the lead, the superhero flick is headed for the big screens on July 26. However, ahead of its premiere, there have been constant pictorial and visual leaks of the film. Earlier, set pictures went viral with Ryan Reynolds requesting social media users to refrain from posting them. Now, Deadpool and Wolverine’s promotional merchandise has been released giving movie buffs an inkling of what they can expect from the film. Keeping the leaks in mind, Shawn Levy has now reacted to the movie disclosures.
In an interaction with Collider, Shawn Levy acknowledged that Deadpool and Wolverine was a “big movie" and the merchandise reveal was something inevitable. “The truth is, Disney is a big machine. They’ve empowered us with huge freedom in the making of this movie but this is a big movie release and there’s going to be a lot of merchandise, ancillary things in the world. And it’s a balance between being in that world and preserving the delight of surprise. Those are conversations we’re having all the time," he said.
Earlier in April, X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with comic representations of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) as a part of promotional merchandise. They were issued in the sticker form, provided by Disney, reports Screen Rant. The image showcased Deadpool in his iconic bright red superhero costume, drawing two swords from his back. Beside Deadpool there was a pictorial illustration of Wolverine, donning his staple yellow and blue costume. But the show-stealer was his helmet, which till then did not appear in the set photos. Wolverine’s claws were out and his arms were crossed across his chest.

Deadpool and Wolverine revolve around the superheroes joining forces to defeat a common enemy. During CinemaCon, Shawn Levy in an interaction with Screen Rant revealed that the upcoming film was not a third Deadpool sequel. “It’s not Deadpool 3. This is a two-hander character adventure," he shared. The director assured that Deadpool and Wolverine would be “gnarly" and “funny", offering a “great time" to the audience.
