Devara Mania Takes Over US, Jr NTR Fans In The US Welcome Film With Garlands; Photo Goes Viral

Jr NTR starrer Devara: Part 1 has hit theatres, making a roaring entrance in India and even abroad. Also starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film was released on Friday to exhilarated reactions from audiences. Jr NTR fans who thronged the cinema halls in the US recently made a special gesture for the actor in Minneapolis. Ahead of the film’s release, posters of Jr NTR were put up across the theatres, with floral garlands around them.

One of the fans shared a picture as she happily posed with the actor’s poster. “Minneapolis #NTR fans have organized quite the party!! #DevaraCelebrations,” she wrote.

While the picture shows a very excited fan with the decorated Devara poster, one can also spot many other happy fans in the background, seemingly waiting to watch the film.

It is worth mentioning that the film managed to achieve record pre-sales in the US, cementing the hype around Jr NTR’s massive fan following. Devara’s North American premieres alone made over $2.5 million. Additionally, the pre-sales in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea also topped AU$ 300K.

So far, the film has received a share of mixed reviews, with mostly positive ones from the viewers. Prior to its release, the actor even arrived in the US for the Beyond Fest event, where his Oscar-winning film RRR was screened. Speaking at the screening hall, Jr NTR explained how Devara is all about himself.

“You’ve got Devara the father, and you’ve got Varadha the son. It is… I mean, I really don’t want to give a lot of spoilers. It’s just two days away from releasing, but it is the rollercoaster journey of a father and son,” the actor said. He also shared a few deets about the film, stating that it is set in the heartlands of India’s coastal lands.

More About Devara: Part 1

Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 features Jr NTR in a dual role as the father and son, Devara and Varadha. His character remains quite pivotal to the storyline, mainly revolving around a dramatic clash against a coastal setting. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Bhaira, a kushti master (wrestling trainer), who befriends Devara with hidden motives for his selfish interests.

On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor plays NTR’s on-screen love interest. Made under the banners of NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts, the film has been released in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
