Don: THIS Actor Was Considered As New Age Don Before Shah Rukh Khan And Ranveer Singh

Don has always been one of the most loved franchises for fans of Indian cinema. And ever since Farhan Akhtar revealed that Ranveer Singh was roped in to play Don in the third sequel, there has been a strong buzz about the leading actress for the film. Today, it was announced that Kiara Advani has been roped in as the leading lady for Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film Don 3. Kiara has joined Ranveer Singh in the popular film franchise, which will mark the duo’s first collaboration together.

The first two parts of Don were headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, which was a massive hit at the box office. With Ranveer Singh entering the franchise, fans are expecting a different era of Don. However, did you know that even before Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh, there was another actor being considered for the role? Yes, it wasn’t SRK or Singh as the first choice for Don; instead, Farhan Akhtar was keen on casting Hrithik Roshan for the part. 

Earlier in an interview, reported by the India FM News Bureau, Farhan said that he actually wanted Hrithik for Don. “I actually wanted Hrithik for Don.” He added, “This was when I was just out of Lakshya, and we had hit it off fabulously. But then, when I slept it over, I felt that role needed someone maturer, a face that had seen the world and roughed it out. Hrithik’s innocence overstepped 2 points for the role.”

Coming back to Kiara Advani, a source allegedly told Bollywood Hungama that she has been cast in a pivotal role in Don 3. “Director Farhan Akhtar felt that Kiara fit the bill perfectly. Moreover, she has never been paired with lead actor Ranveer Singh before. Kiara, too, is excited to be a part of an exciting action franchise. She is looking forward to playing the stylish part and also collaborating with Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh,” the insider said.

The source further added, “Until now, Kiara has proved her worth in romantic, intense, and comic roles. With Don 3 and War 2, she’ll make a mark in the action genre and thus emerge as an all-rounder actress.”

Don 3 is slated for a 2025 release.
