Entrepreneur Diipa Khosla On Her Cannes 2024 Journey: 'It Is A Moment For Us To Shine'
Diipa Khosla marked her seventh appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

Indian entrepreneur and popular beauty influencer Diipa Khosla made a stunning appearance at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, turning heads with her unique looks. Over the years, Diipa Khosla has been quite a regular at Cannes, thus marking her seventh time attending the coveted film festival. Having created a realm in the fields of beauty, fashion and business, Diipa never fails to mesmerise audiences with her high-end choices, thus earning a massive following on social media. Following her latest stint at Cannes, Diipa Khosla spoke to Film Companion and opened up about her journey so far. She also shared her passion for fashion, films and the festival, further revealing the way Indian representation has come since her debut.

Speaking on the reason that continues to draw her back to the festival, Diipa said, “I have this true love for fashion and films that brings me back. It is also my community. When I attended Cannes for the first time, it was like they expected me to be there and join. This year, I was unsure, but it’s my community that loves me.”

Being a Cannes veteran, Khosla also gave a few tips, stating that having a good team and being calm at the centre of the carpet is very important.

Diipa Khosla on India’s changing representation

The entrepreneur-influencer opened up about how India’s representation has changed over the years. “The world opening up to India and to Indians is a given like it’s happening. When I started, it was me in a storm of Europeans and blondes. Yes, it is losing its accessibility, but India is here to be reckoned with, and we are here and we are coming back. This makes me proud. Cannes is a moment for us to shine,” she said.

Diipa Khosla also spoke about her journey as a woman in the fashion world. “I have never thought any differently as a woman. That confidence is like a muscle that you have to build over the years. When I first started as an Indian, they were like, ‘Can you do fashion? Can you be in fashion week?’ I literally didn’t get in the front row just because I am an Indian. But the beauty of being underestimated is that you can turn the table,” she added.
