Amar Singh Chamkila, the Imtiaz Ali directorial film starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles, has gained a lot of praise from the audiences since its release on Netflix. The biographical drama is based on the life of the popular Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila, known for his record-breaking music albums and electrifying stage performances back in the 1980s. Also hailed as the ‘Elvis Presley of Punjab’, he was assassinated at the age of 27 along with his wife and singing partner Amarjot Kaur in Mehsampur. While Diljit essayed the titular role, Parineeti played his wife in the film.
Reviews are pouring in for the film from all corners, and recently, several Bollywood celebs, including Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Priyanka Chopra, and TV celebs like Rajiv Adatia and Kritika Kamra expressed their admiration for Imtiaz Ali directorial.
The latest one to join the bandwagon was the TV serial Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala fame Anjali Anand. Taking to Instagram stories, she shared her review of the movie.
Anjali shared a reel video posted by Netflix India which featured a compilation of a few scenes of the film and wrote, “Cannot explain in words the feelings that were felt. This is epic stuff. Just magical.”
Recently, actor Rajkummar Rao, in his review of the film, lauded team Amar Singh Chamkila. He dropped the post of the film on his Instagram stories and wrote a lengthy note that read, “Chamkila is such a brilliant film. Must watch @diljitdosanjh paji sirf Chamkila dikha, Diljit kahin nahi tha aapki performance mein Rooh mein utar gaye aap. Soo inspiring. @parineetichopra impeccable performance. @imtiazaliofficial sir, there’s no one like you. Thank you for giving us Chamkila. @arrahman you’re a legend.”
Amar Singh Chamkila marked the first on-screen collaboration of Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra. Meanwhile, talking about Anjali Anand’s work front, she is a popular TV artist known for her role in shows like Dhhai Kilo Prem and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala. She was also a part of reality shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 and Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 11.
Apart from this, she was also seen in director Karan Johar’s romantic drama film Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in which she essayed the role of Ranveer Singh’s sister.
