Fardeen Khan is earning accolades from audiences for his remarkable digital debut in Heeramandi. The actor has made a triumphant return to the screen after a 14-year hiatus, captivating viewers with his performance in the epic series. In a recent interview with Zoom TV, Fardeen opened up about the challenges he faced, including dealing with trolling related to his weight gain.
Reflecting on the past, Fardeen candidly shared his thoughts, “I was surprised to have got that attention. But, of course, you quickly understand that people remembered you in a certain way. They were surprised to see me. I had let myself go in the way that I had. I mean I was a worldwide trending topic at that time and not for the right reasons. The way I dealt with it, having been around the business you develop some thick skin. You kind of teach yourself or force yourself to not take it personally to whatever extent you can. You can find humour in it. You can philosophise about it. You can learn from it. For me, I tried to do all three. It was a punch and I took it on the chin.”
Fardeen also observed, “The intensity or the degree of meanness was a revelation. It does surprise you that people would find joy in someone else’s misery and despair.”
Fardeen Khan shines as Nawab Wali Bin Zayed-Al Mohammed in the widely acclaimed Heeramandi. The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and the legendary Farida Jalal in pivotal roles. Marking a significant milestone, Heeramandi also represents Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated OTT debut. Currently streaming on Netflix, the series has already garnered enough success to be renewed for a second season.
Fardeen began his Bollywood journey with a remarkable debut in his late father Feroz Khan’s directorial, Prem Aggan. Over the years, he has graced the screen in beloved films such as Jungle, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, Janasheen, Dev, Fida, and No Entry. His last theatrical release was Dulha Mil Gaya, which left a memorable mark.
Fardeen Khan is gearing up for his next exciting project, Visfot, produced by the renowned Sanjay Gupta. Adding to his impressive lineup, he will also be seen in Mudassar Aziz’s highly anticipated film Khel Khel Mein, directed by Akshay Kumar. The film features an illustrious cast, including Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and others.
