Actor Taha Shah Badussha is currently making headlines after his recent series Heeramandi on Netflix. His powerful performance as Nawab Tajdar Baloch has stolen the limelight. He has recently shared how he got the second film of his career, Gippi, in 2013. He remembered running behind director-producer Karan Johar’s car for his role. In an interview, Taha Shah shared his journey in films. He stated that he once ran behind Karan Johar’s car because he wanted to audition. After seeing him running, Karan stopped the car and offered him some water. The next day, he called him for an audition for the film Gippi by Dharma Productions, and that’s how he bagged the role.
Gippi is a teen drama film written and directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner, with UTV Motion Pictures serving as distributor. The film stars newcomers Riya Vij and Taaha Shah in lead roles. The film hit the box office on May 10, 2013.
The music for the film was composed by Vishal-Shekhar, with lyrics by Anvita Dutt Guptan and Vishal Dadlani. The music label is Sony Music. This film didn’t help his career.
He then appeared in films such as Barkhaa (2015), Baar Baar Dekho (2016), and Ranchi Diaries (2017). These also did not help him gain fame in his career.
Taha made his Bollywood debut in 2011 with the film Luv Ka The End, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor. The film is also loosely based on the 2009 American film Wild Cherry and the 2006 American film John Tucker Must Die, directed by Betty Thomas and John Green’s novel Paper Towns.
He was last seen in the 2023 Kannada-language period action film Kabzaa. It was written and directed by R Chandru. The film features an ensemble cast of Upendra, Shiva Rajkumar, Kiccha Sudeepa, Shriya Saran, Sudha, Murali Sharma, and Nawab Shah in the lead roles.
Taha was recently seen in the multi-star Netflix series Heeramandi. Aside from him, the series included Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman in prominent roles.
