Dibyendu Bhattacharya is a prominent actor in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He is best known for his character roles in movies and web series. He played the role of Layak Talukdar in Criminal Justice, which garnered praise from critics and audiences. Dibyendu recently wrapped up the first schedule for his upcoming film Gulabi, starring Huma Qureshi in the lead role. The film is directed by Vipul Mehta and jointly produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Vishal. The shooting of the film began in Ahmedabad on April 15. While wrapping up the movie’s first schedule, Dibyendu Bhattacharya talked about his favourite food on set.
In a conversation with IANS, he expressed his love for homemade food like dal and chawal. Believing in a simple life despite being a huge star, Dibyendu shared: “During shoots, most of the time I try to eat homemade food, which is very simple. Like dal-chawal or maybe khichdi with curry.”
The shooting of the film is moving at a brisk pace. Dibyendu Bhattacharya said he is looking forward to the next schedule in Mumbai.
“We really have a nice team with Vipul Mehta as the director and Vishal Rana as the producer; overall, it was fun shooting in Ahmedabad, surrounded by delicious food and great people,” said Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
Dibyendu is best known for his role in Dev D. He was last seen in the web series Poacher on Amazon Prime Video. He also played prominent roles in The Railway Men, Rocket Boys and Maharani.
The film Gulabi is inspired by a true incident involving a brave female auto-rickshaw driver, who becomes a beacon of change for women. According to the Mid-Day report, in the climax portion of the film, the makers have adhered to around 300 people from the nearby villages of Ahmedabad where the shooting is taking place. The reports also mentioned that the large size of the crowd was untrained so there was a possibility of hiccups, but everything reportedly went smoothly.
