Indrajit Lankesh's Son Samarjit To Sing Unplugged Version Of Hudugi Hudugi In His Debut Gowri
The song Hudugi Hudugi is from Indrajit Lankesh’s directorial, the 2006 film Aishwarya.

Prominent South cinema filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh’s son, Samarjit Lankesh is set to make his acting debut with the film Gowri. Interestingly, apart from debuting as an actor, Samarjit is going to showcase his singing talent through the film.

Samarjit Lankesh will be debuting as an actor as well as a singer in his father’s directorial Gowri. The young actor will be impressing the audience with his vocals on the unplugged version of the Kannada language superhit Hudugi Hudugi, from his father’s 2006 release, Aishwarya.

In a recent interview, Samarjit revealed that it was composer Mathew Manu who suggested that he should record Hudugi Hudugi with his vocals. He said, “The original was sung by Kunal Ganjawala sir and to think of reprising the same in my voice seemed daunting at first.” He added that even though it is just an unplugged version, he trained his vocals with the composers before recording it.

The reports state that Indrajit Lankesh is aiming to create an unforgettable album featuring the vocals of names like Javed Ali, Kailash Kher and Ananya Bhat in its tracks. As per more information, the music in the film is composed by several names which include Jassie Gift, Chandan Shetty, Shivu Bergi and more.

Helmed by Indrajit Lankesh, Gowri marks the debut of Samarjit Lankesh and Saanya Iyer, a popular name in television. The cast also includes Miss Teen Universe Sweezal Furtado and Chandan Gowda. The cinematography is being done by AJ Shetty while Ravi Verma will serve as the stunt choreographer and Kaviraj is the lyricist. The film is said to be inspired by real events.

The song Hudugi Hudugi originally featured in the film Aishwarya, an Indrajit directorial released in 2006. The film starred Deepika Padukone making her acting debut with Kannada star Upendra, along with Daisy Bopanna and Master Kishan N Kumar and Dr Ramanjaneyalu produced the film under the banner of Chilukuru Balaji Productions. Rajesh Ramanath is the film’s composer.
