The highly anticipated third installment of the beloved Welcome franchise, ‘Welcome to the Jungle,’ is all prepared to bring laughter and joy to its audience. The movie has now added Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani to its cast, promising to amp up the entertainment factor, as per insider sources.
Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani are set to play significant roles in a film that has been generating buzz for all the right reasons ever since its announcement. The star-studded cast already includes Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde, with the recent additions of Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani.
Last month it was reported that Farida Jalal, aged 75, has also joined the cast, “Farida ji takes up fewer projects nowadays due of her age and because she’s selective about the work she does,” the source told Hindustan Times, adding, “However, she was on board when she heard the script and found it to be a family entertainer. She has maintained one thing all these years – she always stars in films that a family can sit and watch together, right from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) to Batti Gul Meter Chalu (2018).”
When the first glimpse of the film was unveiled last year, it generated quite a buzz due to its stellar star cast and distinction from the two previous films. Shreyas Talpade, who will feature in the film in a prominent role, had opened up about its plot during an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha.
He told us, “It’s a pretty interesting and funny story about these guys all coming together and pulling off a kind of stunt. The brief was very clear, let’s have some madness on set and let’s make sure we entertain people. I’m looking forward to the next big schedule we’ll have in March. There are some crazy scenes with me and Tusshar together. That was one of the USPs, not only me and Tusshar but also Arshad and Sanju sir are coming together.”
Presented by Base Industries Group, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwallah and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film is set for a grand theatrical release during the Christmas week on 20th December 2024.
