Janhvi Kapoor gave a sneak peek into Boney Kapoor and Sridevi's marriage. The couple got married in 1996.

Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her South Indian roots in the trailer of The Great Indian Kapil Show. In the video, the actress revealed her father, producer Boney Kapoor embraced the South Indian culture when he fell in love with Sridevi. For the unversed, Sridevi grew up in Chennai. While her father was reportedly a Tamilian, her mother spoke Telugu.

Janhvi and her sister, Khushi Kapoor have embraced her mother’s roots as well. In the promo of the Netflix comedy show, Janhvi said that her Punjabi rooted father ‘converted’ after he fell in love with Sridevi and started having idlis for breakfast instead of parathas. She added that her mother also embraced his family’s ‘North Indian’ traits and reached to a point that she would fight like a North Indian.

Papa had already converted. He would have idli sambar for breakfast instead of aloo parathas. By the end of it, Mom started fighting like a North Indian," she admitted. In the promo, Kapil also asked Jr NTR to name his favourite actress from the North. The Devara star said, “Sridevi, always." Saif Ali Khan jumped in to add, “Hey, that was my answer for the South."
