Kangana Ranaut Claims Bollywood Actors Assault Women: 'Dinner Pe Bulana, Message Karna...'
Kangana Ranaut's allegations come at a time when the MeToo movement in the Malayalam film industry has jolted the nation.

Kangana Ranaut attended the News18 India Chaupal event on Monday in New Delhi when she expressed concern regarding the safety of women in our society and made a shocking claim. The actress alleged that Bollywood actors assault female members of the film industry and “exploit a lot”.

“Do you know how do these heroes assault women? They call them for dinners, message them, ask them to come home,” Kangana said and then added, “Look at the Kolkata rape and murder case. Look at rape threats to me. We know that we do not respect women. The film industry is no different. College boys comment on females. Film heroes are no different. They are also like this. We know how a woman is treated at a workplace.”

“Even Saroj Khan was once asked about rape and sexual assault in the film industry when she said, ‘Rape toh karte hai par roti bhi dete hai’. This is the situation of our daughters in this film industry,” she claimed.

Kangana Ranaut’s allegations come at a time when the MeToo movement in the Malayalam film industry has jolted the nation. It all started after the findings of the Justice Hema Committee Report were made public. As of now, FIRs have been registered against several film personalities including Mukesh, Siddique, Jayasurya, Edavela Babu, Maniyan Pillai Raju, directors Ranjith, V. K. Prakash, production executives Vichu and Noble after women actresses registered complaints.

Earlier today, actress Shefali Shah was also speaking at News18’s She Shakti event in New Delhi when she also shared that she feels ‘helpless and hopeless’ whenever she reads about brutality against women in our society. “I just feel helpless and hopeless. I don’t even know what to make of it. I am not even angry anymore, which is worse. When you are feeling something at least there is some kind of emotion but I just feel, ‘How do you correct this?’ I might sound very pessimistic but I don’t really know if we can completely eradicate this kind of toxicity from our country or this world,” Shefali said.
