Karan Johar on Tuesday took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the shooting days of the film Duplicate featuring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Karan shared fond memories of working with Khan, describing him as a “volcano of energy” on set. He shared a song video from the film and credited Farah Khan.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Karan Johar shared a quirky song video in which Shah Rukh Khan is seen flaunting his culinary skills. He wrote, “@farahkhankunder owning and nailing the vibe! Duplicate was so much fun to shoot! @iamsrk Giving each shot a volcano of energy!!!! The magic of the 90s.” Reacting to the post, Farah Khan wrote, “The film where I actually became best friends with u @karanjohar.” To note, the song is Wah Wah Ji from Duplicate co starring Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre in the lead role.

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan have had a long professional and personal association. He became fast friends with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of the 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Karan worked on the film as an assistant director. Their collaboration has led to many hit films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and My Name Is Khan.

On the professional front, Karan Johar has an exciting lineup of projects in the pipeline. He is set to direct the TV series Call Me Bae, featuring Ananya Panday and Varun Dhawan. The series revolves around a billionaire fashionista who is disowned by her rich family due to a salacious scandal.

While Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Dunki with Taapsee Pannu. The film was loved by fans. Well, he has not announced his new project till now. Speaking to Raya Abirached, Shah Rukh spoke about his next project and said, “I think I’ll start one in March-April now. Like I’ve been attempting now to do a film which is more age-real to me and play it still as the protagonist and the star of the film.” This has created a lot of excitement among Shah Rukh’s fans.
