The craze for psychological films is on the rise among viewers. It shows that the audience will love to see a lot of films in this genre in the coming days. Mammootty Starr’s recent movie Bramayugam is a living example of this. There are still many psychological films that might have escaped the audience’s attention.

Today, let’s take a look at a psychological thriller film that earned three times more than its budget at the box office. It was a low-budget film, but IMDB rated it an 8.1. This film was released on the big screen on December 1 last year, with Bollywood biggies Animal and Sam Bahadur. Can you guess the movie? Let’s take a look.

The film is none other than Parking. The movie stars Harish Kalyan, M. S. Bhaskar and Indhuja Ravichandran as the lead.

As per reports, the budget for the film was only Rs 6 crore. The movie was highly appreciated by critics. Originally made in Tamil, it managed to collect Rs 20 crore at the box office.

This drama film is written and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, which marks his directorial debut. The film is produced jointly by Sudhan Sundaram and K. S. Sinish under the banners of Passion Studios and Soldiers Factory.

The movie revolves around Eshwar, a young IT employee, and his newlywed pregnant wife Aadhika’s conflicts about parking with one of the neighbours after recently moving to a new house. This fight escalates so much that both of them leave aside the worries of their office and family and fight only for parking the car in one spot. This fight goes on for so much that both forget the human aspect. Apart from raising their hands at each other, they are also inclined to comment on and attack each other’s families. But the climax of Parking is so intriguing that one will be stunned as to who was the villain and who was the hero in the end.

The digital rights to this film were acquired by Disney+ Hotstar, while the satellite rights to the film were sold to Star Vijay.

However, Raisa Nasreen of Times Now gave the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote, “Harish Kalyan excels in thriller drama.”
