It may have been a character type that was eternalized by Amitabh Bachchan back in 70s when his film Zanjeer was released. But the impact of angry young man image can be easily gauged by the popularity it enjoys even decades later. While we’d always revere the megastar for creating multiple immortal moments on the big screen, we are also happy that many young actors are following in his footsteps.

And the one actor who has imbibed the persona convincingly and is being admired and loved for his efforts is Namik Paul.

The actor plays the male lead Shravan in popular TV show Ek Duje Ke Vaaste. As his character demands, he is a man of few words. And his magnetism can be easily gauged through his eyes. He doesn’t come across as an assertive personality in the show. However, he is charismatic despite being private and mostly silent.

The fact that he doesn’t mind staying aloof, he is perceived by his friends as both unfriendly and snobby. But is that how he is in reality as Shravan? Nah! A law graduate from London, Shravan was raised by his father and has a strong aversion for his mother. It is precisely because of his troubled childhood, that he thinks all women are untrustworthy.

The actor, who hails from Dehradun, did his schooling from Mussoorie and went to the US to complete his graduation. Even though he worked with a media house to turn into a reporter, he decided to quit the hectic job and try his luck in the showbiz industry. But as expected, he too had to struggle to bag his first role. In an interview, he had said that he had to give several auditions to win a role in the show.

Much like his reel life, Namik admits to often flying into a rage at the slightest of provocations. Much like his reel life, even he needs to know ways to keep calm.

In another interview, he had referred to his anger as his biggest weakness. “I have a massive temper and that’s why I only go online to talk to fans when I’m in a good mood. I wouldn’t otherwise I would be venting out on everyone. I lose my temper especially when I’ve not had enough sleep or had enough food, which happens a lot lately. I can really lose my temper for five minutes but after that I would be okay. I want to get control on that and not react to everything,” he was quoted as saying by a website.
