Mumbai: Director Mohit Suri, who has roped in Sushant Singh Rajput for the film adaption of Chetan
Bhagat's best-selling novel 'Half Girlfriend', says he was blown away with the actor's dedication to portray the role of the Bihari protagonist Madhav Jha.
'Half Girlfriend' marks the coming together of producer Ekta Kapoor, Suri and author Bhagat. "When I was reading the book, I realised that Madhav's character has a unique mix of naivety and ruggedness that is intriguing and extremely crucial to the story. The challenge was to put a face to this endearing Madhav Jha, which I could
never do until I met Sushant," director Mohit Suri said.
"I was blown away with his dedication to embody the character. I was shocked at first, but impressed at how hard he had worked on perfecting certain nuances. I knew right then that I had found my 'Madhav Jha'," he added.
'Half Girlfriend' is a coming of age, young adult romance fiction by Bhagat. It is the story of a Bihari Boy who enrolls himself at the prestigious English-medium college in New Delhi and falls in love with a high class English speaking rich Delhi girl. The girl is not interested in a relationship but agrees to be his "half girlfriend".
Mohit and Chetan are all set to play co-producers as well for the film.
