Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD have been winning the hearts of the audience. The film has received an overwhelming response. Badminton player PV Sindhu has also reacted to the film and praised Deepika’s performance. She shared a scene from the film on her social handle.
PV Sindhu praised Deepika’s performance with a heartfelt message, expressing her awe with a simple “Just wow. @deepikapadukone”. Ram Gopal Varma also lauded the producers of Kalki 2898 AD for entrusting Nag Ashwin with the project. He said that they should now prepare to “dig a deep well” to store all the money they will collect from the film and its sequel. Interestingly, Ram Gopal Varma also has a cameo appearance in the film. Taking to X, the filmmaker wrote, “KUDOS to @AshwiniDuttCh and @SwapnaDuttCh for taking a GIANT LEAP OF FAITH on @nagashwin7… Both father and daughter will need to dig a deep well to store the money they are collecting and will collect from PART 2 of #Kalki2898.”

Nag Ashwin directed Kalki 2898 AD has set the box office on fire. Released on June 27, Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. As per reports, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed Rs 500 crore at the worldwide box office.
Kalki 2898 AD created history at the box office by becoming the third biggest opener in Indian cinema as it earned a massive Rs 191 crore globally on its opening day. With this huge day 1 collection, Kalki 2898 AD has surpassed the global opening records of KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (Rs 158 crore), Leo (Rs 142.75 crore), Sahoo (Rs 130 crore) and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). RRR still remains the highest Indian opener with Rs 223 crore collections, followed by Baahubali 2 which grossed over Rs 217 crore on its opening day.
The Telugu film, which has been released in four other languages, heavily draws inspiration from Mahabharat. The film is set in a dystopian future and revolves around four people — a pregnant woman named Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), who is said to be carrying a child that is the 10th avatar of Vishnu; the immortal Ashwatthama (played by Amitabh Bachchan) who has been tasked to protect the unborn child; a ruthless villain named Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), who wants the child dead for he knows the child will be the end of the baddie; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter who would sell anyone in return of money.
