Almost half a year has passed since the release of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal,” featuring Ranbir Kapoor. Despite its theater run ending, the film remains a hot topic online, with fans obsessing over various behind-the-scenes photos and videos. Recently, celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim made headlines by revealing that Ranbir Kapoor’s hairstyle in the movie was inspired by the iconic Michael Jackson.
Just a while ago, on May 31, Aalim Hakim took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures showcasing the film’s star, Ranbir Kapoor, as the character young Ranvijay. The images captured the actor sporting long hair with flicks falling across his face. He wrote the caption, “Ranbir Kapoor as young Ranvijay with his carefree attitude in the movie ANIMAL The genius Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is too passionate about his characters and really gets deep into creating a character with full background story about the aesthetics. We as technicians learn a lot when we work with a director who is so deep in his thoughts.”
He continued, “The brief that was given to me from the director was to make Ranbir look like in a Rockstar avatar never seen before on him. Sandeep sir narrated to me that Ranvijay is a diehard Michael Jackson fan. So when you watch the film in the climax scene you get to know when Ranbir asks his father Anil Kapoor Sir that when he wanted to go for MJ Concert he kept saying Papa Papa Papa I want to go for his concert .. This is also one of my favourite scene from the film. You will also realise his entry in this look is on the bike smoking a cigarette and then you see him doing a famous MJ Moon Walk with a fantastic background score .. What a BGM .”
“I remember in the 90’s we all used to have atleast one poster of King Of Pop Micheal Jackson’s in our cupboard, especially of BAD. And since I myself have been a MJ fan it was a great opportunity and hence I thought of bringing out the essence of MJ’s hairstyle with young Ranvijay . So I tried to keep a loose pony at the back with a lot of texture with a hair flick falling on the face. But we did it in a very subtle way to go with the vibe of Ranbir playing Ranvijay and not MJ.
Hats Off to Ranbir to pull off every look in the movie with so much of grace. Sandeep sir and everyone present on the look test day really liked what we did during the look test and had few points on the hair & styling and where all we can improve it and make it look better on screen. Again a lot of hardwork & smartwork goes before creating a character. I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of being creative with the hair and seeing and getting inspired by such talented people around me. The last two images is a collage of Ranbir Kapoor & Michael Jackson. .”
As per reports, Sandeep Reddy Vanga will begin shooting Animal Park after Prabhas’ Spirit. Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying, “He has got the basic arc of the story in place and a lot of key characters from Animal will be a part of Animal Park too. While Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri will be back to play their respective parts, Upendra Limaye too has a strong track in Animal Park. The journeys of all characters for the sequel are on paper and it’s now about bringing all of it together via the screenplay. Many new actors will join the cast too.”
As per the last film, Ranbir’s new character, Aziz, has undergone plastic surgery to look like Ranbir’s original character, Vijay. Ranbir as Aziz will avenge the death of his brothers in the sequel.
