Hooda who recently made his directorial debut with Swatantra Veer Savarkar spoke candidly about his bond with Salman Khan, stating that the superstar has always given him sound advice.

While speaking with Beer Biceps Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Randeep shared, “He always advises me to earn more money and do more work. He tells me if I don’t build a fortune by working now, I might face troubles in the future. I have obeyed very few of them, but he always talks to me with the best interest in his heart.”

The actor added, “He has always given me great advice. I just couldn’t follow it. I have a different thought process, but I always listen to the advice and try to follow it. I cannot change too much as a person. He is very intense, intelligent, and a thinker. I am more of a bro to him. I am very emotional too.”

Randeep Hooda’s directorial debut Swatantrya Veer Savarkar released on March 22. It received acclaim for realistic performances of its cast. In the same interview, the actor opened up about the financial constraints he faced during the biopic’s filming. Randeep Hooda was also the producer of the film. According to the actor, he resorted to selling his father’s properties to bear the film’s expenses. On a podcast interview with influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, Randeep talked about the making journey of the biopic and the challenges he went through. Initially, he wanted to release the film on August 15 last year. When that did not happen, he wanted the date of January 26, but it could not happen as well. He revealed that when he was roped in as the director for the film, he wanted to make a quality film and not just a masala entertainer.

He stated, “My father had saved up and bought a few properties for me in Bombay, and I let go of them for this film.” The actor added, “I felt I could not stop making this film. The kind of support this film should have received, it didn’t get.”

Randeep Hooda then talked about the drastic transformation he went through for the film and how he was able to achieve it. He weighed around 60 kgs during his diet, which only consisted of water, black coffee and green tea. Later, he added items like chilla, an omelette, dark chocolate and nuts. He recalled how he used to lose sleep and even fell down a few times on the set.
