Actor Nani delivered two back-to-back hits, Dasara and Hi Nanna, last year. Now, he has returned to the silver screens with his highly anticipated film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. It is written and directed by Vivek Athreya. Apart from Nani, actors SJ Suryah and Priyanka Mohan played prominent roles in the film. Produced by D V V Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment, the film counts as the most expensive film made in Nani’s career with a whopping budget of Rs 90 crore. The film grossed Rs 68.52 at the box office worldwide after four days of its release. The film was released in theatres worldwide on August 29. According to a report, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram minted Rs 9 crore (net) on the opening day in India. The worldwide opening on the first day of the film stands at Rs 24.11 crore. As per report, the film’s worldwide collection crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in its first weekend. The film is expected to enter the Rs 100 crore club this week. On the fifth day, the film earned Rs 3.25 crore. With that, the film’s net collection stands at Rs 36.75 crore. It had an overall 29.20 per cent Telugu occupancy on Monday, September 2. The evening shows attendance reigned highest for the film.
The absence of any new movies is a big plus for the profit box office of the film. The makers released this movie with already stable profits. Netflix reportedly bought the digital rights of this movie for Rs 45 crore. The pre-release theatrical business of the film was Rs 45 crore.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram’s buzz was high in North America as well. According to a report, the advance booking of this film is open in over 180 locations. It has amassed a total of US $ 60157 (Rs 49.98 Lakh) by selling over 2,900 tickets. The film has already crossed the one million dollar mark at the North American box office.
Saripodhaa Sanivaaram revolves around the character Surya (Nani), who fights against injustice on Saturdays, but the situation turns ugly when locks horns with corrupt Inspector R Dayanand, who brutally attacks innocent people for no valid reason.
