'Sasikumar Never Complained  During Nandhan Shoot Despite Injuries': Director Era Saravanan

The new Tamil film Nandhan starring M Sasikumar in the lead role released on September 20 to rave reviews. Nandhan was Sasikumar’s second film with director Era Saravanan and the leading man underwent a major transformation in his role. Era Saravanan sent a special birthday greeting to Sasikumar on September 28 on the actor’s birthday and appreciated his dedication to the film.

In a detailed birthday note, Era Saravanan wrote, “Sasikumar sir went to great lengths for Nandan by adjusting his looks and habits and even chewing betel leaves to achieve a realistic look.”

Era Saravanan added, “During a difficult scene where he had to be trampled, those present were hesitant but he insisted on authenticity despite the risks. I asked the villagers to treat it like a real fight and Sasikumar never complained despite the injuries. After the final scenes, I suggested reshooting a portion to increase the realism and he agreed without hesitation. Later, he told me that people usually praise his films but this time they praised his acting and that is what counts for an actor. His commitment and dedication to the role was remarkable.”

Not only the fans but several cinema stars and politicians are also impressed with Sasikumar’s Nandhan and the film is receiving praise. The stars praised Sasikumar and Suruthi Periyasamy’s performance and director Era Saravanan for handling the political subject perfectly. Nandhan is running successfully in its second week and the film has filled most of the cinema halls.

Also, Sasikumar and Simran have come together to star in a film for the first time. The family entertainer is directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth. The shooting of the film is scheduled to begin in October 2024.

The film is produced by Million Dollar Studios, the makers of Manikandan’s Good Night. The film also stars Yogi Babu and Ramesh Thilak in important roles. The shooting officially began today with a pooja on the occasion of Sasikumar’s birthday.
