Shah Rukh Khan wants Alia Bhatt to star opposite him in an Indian version of the popular film, 50 Shades of Grey. He said this on an episode of Koffee with Karan when he appeared with Alia to promote their film, Dear Zindagi. However, since they have an age gap of almost 27 years, Karan Johar didn’t seem too pleased with the idea.

When Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt appeared together on Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan, the host asked SRK which Bollywood actress he’d like to cast opposite himself in an Indian adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. “Chains, handcuffs, masochism, dirty, kinky sex,” Karan explained to Shah Rukh.

Alia asked the superstar, “Do you know 50 Shades of Grey?” Shah Rukh Khan said, “Chains, handcuffs? Alia.” SRK grazed Alia’s shoulder as she smirked and looked at Karan. Karan Johar made a disgusted face and said, “I’m just imagining.” Karan and SRK joked that Alia was ‘ready with her hands up’.

This interaction has resurfaced on Reddit and has gone viral in no time. One fan wrote, “I’m a die-hard SRK fan and even I thought this was pretty uh, weird is definitely one word to put it.” Another added, “All guests name the person next to them when asked such questions because the person is there to refute or give a reaction to it.” Another wrote, “So weird.”

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was most recently seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. He is now prepping for Sujoy Ghosh’s King with Suhana Khan. Shah Rukh and Suhana will reportedly play parallel leads in the film. According to reports, King is set to depict Shah Rukh in a compelling role as a notorious underworld figure. The movie is a joint production between Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures, adding to the anticipation surrounding this exciting project. Shah Rukh Khan’s line-up of films also includes the highly-anticipated Tiger vs Pathaan with Salman Khan.
