Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello finally settled their divorce nearly six months after they announced their separation, as per reports. TMZ obtained documents from the court on Friday, February 9. They mentioned in their report that the former couple have decided to amicably part ways, in accordance with their prenup.
As per the documents obtained by the outlet, their prenup allows both actors to keep the assets they had acquired individually during their marriage. TMZ also reported that both Sofia and Joe have waived spousal support.
Speaking about the reason behind their split, Sofia told El País last month, “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” She added, “I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother.” Sofia who was previously married to her high school sweetheart Joe Gonzalez in 1991 shares a son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara with him.
Sofia Vergara added that she had already hit “menopause” and it was “the natural way of things.” She explained that when his son becomes a father and he brings his baby to her after some time she will “give it back to him and go on with” her life. “That’s what I have to do,” she said.
Later on, in the divorce documents obtained by People magazine, Joe cited the “irreconcilable differences” between him and Sofia to be the reason for the divorce. Sofia Vergara who got married to Joe in 2015, parted ways with her former partner last year in September. Rumours of their alleged split-up surfaced when Sofia was seen celebrating her 51st birthday in Italy without Joe and sans a wedding ring. In July 2023, the Hot Pursuit actress released a joint statement with Joe, announcing their separation.
