Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor shared screen space in Mausam directed by Pankaj Kapur. Well, back then the actor had an image of flirting and reacting to the same, Sonam Kapoor called Shahid ‘biggest Bhondu’. She spoke during the promotion of the film. Mausam was released in 2011 and received mixed response.
Talking to Zoom, Sonam Kapoor was asked to comment on how Shahid Kapoor was known to be a ‘flirt’ and a charmer. Sonam said, “No, he is not like that. He is the biggest ‘bhondu’ in the world…” The actress called him a “simple, sweet, and wholesome good guy.” Earlier, in a conversation with India Today, Pankaj Kapur mentioned that his temperament is more of an actor. The portal quoted the actor cum director saying, “Mausam is the only film I wrote and directed. Having said that, I do have scripts, but I cannot go from door-to-door selling them. I do not have that temperament. My temperament is more of an actor. I mean, I don’t mind if somebody comes to me and says do you have a script? Can I hear something? I’m ready to narrate it and if the person says yes, I like what you have written, I am ready to go ahead and direct the film. It’s not that I don’t like directing. I love directing, but I cannot struggle to make a film. So, after ‘Mausam’, I decided to be more of an actor, and when an opportunity arises, I will direct.”
Sonam Kapoor has been missing from the screen for a long time. The actress, who was last seen in Blind, has confirmed that she will be soon facing the camera once again. The shooting will start next year and other details are kept under wrap. This will be Sonam Kapoor’s first project post-pregnancy early next year. It will be a streaming project on a global platform.
Sonam confirms, “I’m super excited to face the camera again post my pregnancy. I love being an actor and I love living so many interesting characters through my profession. Human beings fascinate me and I love playing varied roles. I’m looking forward to my next.”
On the professional front, Sonam was last seen in the 2023 crime-thriller ‘Blind,’ a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name. Directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, the film marked Sonam’s return to the screen after a six-year break following ‘The Zoya Factor.’ Up next, she will star in ‘Battle for Bittora,’ an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel. Sonam Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’.
