South Korean actor Song Kang has enlisted himself in the military. He is the next in line among other popular Korean celebrities who will be serving an 18-month-long tenure in the army. The Sweet Home alum will be beginning his military duties as a soldier on April 2. Dropping a few pictures of himself on Instagram, Song Kang has announced the commencement of this new responsibility. The photographs have offered fans a glimpse into his fresh buzz-cut hairstyle, which is a customary grooming practice for individuals who get appointed in the army. Song Kang has assured his admirers of returning home after “working hard”.
“I will work hard and return!!!” read Song Kang’s sweet message to his followers. The snaps capture the actor dressed in an oversized charcoal black hoodie that he layered with a black T-shirt underneath. The 29-year-old looked handsome in the cropped military haircut, underlining that he was ready to serve his country. Song Kang also flashed a subtle smile in the clicks, posing with his hand on his head in one of them. He even shared a sneak peek of the long hair that he sported before joining the army.
Song Kang’s fans wished him good luck for his new journey ahead. Reacting to the photos, one user said, “My heart is broken. Missing you.” “My Kang, I’m only rooting for. Don’t worry and have a safe trip,” prayed another. Penning an elaborate write-up, a well-wisher commented, “Be humble in all your actions. Being humble allows you to see others as brothers and understand that we are all apprentices on the evolutionary journey of life.”
Back in February, Song Kang’s management agency Namoo Actors released a statement confirming his military recruitment. An excerpt of the letter as quoted by Soompi read, “Song Kang will be enlisting as an active duty soldier of the (Republic of Korea) Army on Tuesday, April 2. There will be no official events held when he enters the recruit training center, and he will be enlisting privately to prevent safety accidents due to congestion on site, so we ask for your understanding.”
Song Kang was a part of some acclaimed television shows like My Demon, Sweet Home, Nevertheless, Love Alarm, and Beautiful Vampire.
