Varun Dhawan Was Banned From Working on Other Projects While Filming Citadel Honey Bunny; Here's Why

Varun Dhawan revealed he was asked not to take on other project or ads after starting work on Citadel: Honey Bunny. The actor said joined Samantha Ruth Prabhu and the directors — Raj & DK (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK) — at the trailer placed the condition even before he was signed on board. He revealed the reason they kept this condition was that they did not want his look to reveal.
“When you work with directors like Raj & DK, they are very concerned ‘Ye koi dusra kaam toh nahi kar raha hai? Is he starting a new film? Is he shooting an ad? They were very concerned. Before I was on board, I was given a strict instruction that ‘If you are doing this, you cannot do another during this, shoot no ads. This is your look, you can only be in this.’ I enjoyed it more because I got to be in this character for a much longer period of time,” Varun said.
This is the first time that Varun is collaborating with Raj & DK. This is also his first project with Samantha as well. Praising her, Varun said, “Honestly, my preparation was very easy compared to Samantha’s. It’s public knowledge what she was battling when she joined the show. I thought my rehearsals were tough, but then I saw her incredible work ethic despite her struggles, and it truly inspired me. We became partners in making things happen.”
“I’ve never been on a shoot or a creative process like that before, where I witnessed a co-actor going through such challenges. You learn a lot about human resilience and strength when you see someone battling something and still succeeding. Samantha inspired not just me, but also Raj, DK, Sita, and everyone at Amazon. Her dedication to this action show is truly inspirational,” he added.
