Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, was released on October 11. The film went head-to-head with Alia Bhatt’s action thriller Jigra and has outperformed it at the box office. It has been well-received by audiences, crossing the early milestone of ₹20 crore within the first four days. After five days, the total earnings have reached ₹23.35 crore.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video debuted with ₹5.5 crore on October 11. It saw a 25.45% increase on Day 2, earning ₹6.9 crore. On Day 3, it made ₹6.4 crore, bringing its total revenue to ₹18.8 crore for the opening weekend. On Day 4 (Monday), the film earned ₹2.4 crore, followed by an estimated ₹2.15 crore on Day 5 (Tuesday).
Directed by Raj Shaandilyaa, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video follows a newly married couple whose reputation is threatened when their private video CD goes missing. The film captures their roller-coaster journey as they face various unexpected challenges in their quest to recover the lost CD.
Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimrii, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has an impressive ensemble cast including Vijay Raaz, Mast Ali, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Saharsh Kumar Shukla, Archana Patel, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania and Ashwini Kalsekar.
In contrast, Jigra, featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, is facing challenges at the box office. After five days, the film has failed to surpass the ₹20 crore mark, with disappointing earnings on Days 4 and 5. According to Sacnilk, it earned only ₹1.65 crore on Day 4 and ₹1.6 crore on Day 5.
With no big releases scheduled until Diwali, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is expected to have a clear opportunity to increase its earnings. Two major films are set to debut on Diwali: Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. The classic comedy Khosla Ka Ghosla, featuring Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, will be re-released on October 18.
