When Mahesh Babu’s Sister-In-Law Shilpa Shirodkar Said He Was More Than Just A Superstar

Shilpa Shirodkar, a popular actress from the 90s, is gearing up to join the Bigg Boss 18 house. In addition to her Bollywood fame, Shilpa shares a special connection with South Indian superstar Mahesh Babu. She is the sister-in-law of the Guntur Kaaram actor, as her sister Namrata Shirodkar is married to him. In the past, Shilpa has spoken fondly about her close relationship with her superstar brother-in-law.

Back in 2020, the actress sat for an interview with ETimes and spoke at length about the kind of bond she shares with Mahesh Babu. “Mahesh is a superstar for everyone, but for me, he is my brother-in-law. Sometimes, he’s more there for me than my sister. If I have to describe our relationship in one word, family,” said Shilpa. In the same conversation, she also revealed that her sister Namrata took over as her mother and father after they passed away. Shilpa called her “my pillar of strength.”

In other news, Colors TV recently dropped a promo for Bigg Boss 18, where Shilpa teased her appearance in the show by saying, “I was unconventional. I was bold. Log mujhe 90s ki sensational queen bulatey the. Maine sabhi bade heroes ke saath kaam kiya hai. Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan. Sirf ek sapna tha, Salman Khan ke saath kaam karne ka, aur woh sapna bhi ab pura ho raha hai. (I was the sensational queen of the 90s. I’ve worked with Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Akshay Kumar, and Shah Rukh Khan. My only dream was to work with Salman Khan, and now it’s becoming reality.)”

While her face was kept in the dark, actress Anita Hassanandani’s comment, “@shilpashirodkar73 Yaaaaaay! I’m already glued to the TV ‼️ Kill it”, confirmed her participation. In addition to Shilpa Shirodkar, Nia Sharma and Shehzada Dhami are reportedly going to enter Bigg Boss 18. Hosted by Salman Khan, the upcoming season of the show will premiere on October 6 at 9 PM, only on Colors TV and Jio Cinema. This time, the show will follow a new format, where Bigg Boss will predict the future of the contestants.

Speaking of Shilpa’s professional front, she made her acting debut in 1989 with Ramesh Sippy’s film Bhrashtachar and has starred in several popular films, including Khuda Gawah, Gopi Kishan and Bewafa Sanam, among others. After a decade-long hiatus, the actress started her second innings in showbiz with television shows. She has starred in Ek Mutthi Aasmaan and Silsila Pyaar Ka, among others.
