Deepika Singh is one of the most prominent television actors in the Hindi television industry. She became a household name following the success of her popular TV serial, Diya Aur Baati Hum. She received several accolades because of her terrific acting in that serial. Deepika, however, had to face many setbacks in the initial stages of her career. In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, the 34-year-old actress narrated a horrific incident regarding her struggling days in Mumbai. She recalled one of her friends asking her to leave the house at midnight. Deepika has yet to forget that bitter experience. She reminisced many similar traumatising experiences like her father’s massive financial losses, lack of funds in childhood, etc.

Deepika, however, remained undeterred and is now one of the popular names in the television world. After remaining on a sabbatical from TV for a long time, she has made her comeback with the show Mangal Lakshmi. This show has started premiering on the channel Colors TV from February 27, 2024.

Speaking about being away from TV for a long time, Deepika told the Times of India, “I wanted to be associated with acting and it’s not like I was completely away. I did Kawach, Titu Ambani, my film but at that point, I wasn’t ready for a long-term commitment. I had mentioned it and maintained that. I did small roles like the film was just a one-month schedule.” The Diya Aur Baati Hum actress, however, was not ready for long-time commitments. This is because she had taken up training for classical dance and wanted to concentrate on her exams. Now that she has received her certificate in dancing, she practices on her own for an hour every day and then goes for shoots.

Meanwhile, Deepika married Rohit Raj Goyal, the director of the serial Diya Aur Baati Hum, in a private wedding ceremony in 2014. On May 20, 2017, the couple embraced parenthood by welcoming a baby boy named Soham. In an earlier interview, Deepika credits Rohit for all her learnings about the industry. She said that the Diya Aur Baati Hum director has moulded her into an actress and she can trust him blindly.
