Ankita Lokhande clarified that she has not been speaking about Sushant Singh Rajput on Bigg Boss 17 for stratergy sake. The actress, who was dating Sushant for a few years in the past, often shared anecdotes and shocking details about him and their relationship during the season. When the media entered the Bigg Boss house to speak with the contestants, Ankita was asked if she was bringing up Sushant’s name from time to time to lure his fandoms. The actress denied and said that she opened up about him because he was a nice person.
As reported by ETimes, Ankita said, “No, it is nothing like that. Abhishek and I used to keep talking about Sushant as he considers him as his idol and really looks up to him. He wants to be like Sushant and considers him as his inspiration. I’ve always talked only good things about Sushant because I feel if I can tell some good things about him through this platform why not? Usne acche kaam kiye hain, and I can speak about it because jitne main unke baare mein jaanti hoon and I’ve seen his journey.
“And I’ve explained the same about him. I feel very proud to talk about Sushant wherever I am and there is nothing wrong in talking about Sushant. I am talking only about the good things which I know about him. I feel it is absolutely fine because jitna main Sushant ko jaanti hoon shayad koi nahi jaanta. And if there is a young boy who wants to be like him I will definitely talk to him or anybody else,” she added.
Ankita and Sushant made their acting debut together with Pavitra Rishta when they fell in love with each other. Ankita and Sushant dated for seven years before they broke up. In June 2020, Sushant was found dead in his apartment. Previously, Ankita recalled Sushant’s death while speaking to Munawar Faruqui when she said, “Tut gaya voh kisi chiz se. Nahi hona chahiye tha (He was broken because of something. This shouldn’t have happened).”
