Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-lee have mutually decided to end their 27 years of marriage. Requesting privacy while manoeuvring through this rough transition of their personal lives, the ex-pair has decided to shift their focus on “individual growth.” The news of their separation was confirmed by People along with a joint statement that explained it was an amicable decision decided by both parties. Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee noted they’ve been blessed to stay happily married for almost three decades. But now their journey has shifted. “We have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the duo stated.
They ensure the well-being of their family remains their top priority as they move on to the next chapter of their lives. “Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives,” they added.
It was back in 1995 when the couple crossed paths with each other on the sets of the Australian TV show Correlli. The two fell head over heels for each other and got hitched only a year later in an intimate wedding ceremony hosted in Melbourne. It remains unclear when the trouble in paradise began but it was only months ago the duo celebrated their 27th anniversary on a happy note. Hugh Jackman shared a mushy photo alongside Deborra-lee on Instagram to mark the special occasion. The Wolverine fame also penned a heartfelt note of gratitude for his wife for remaining an incredible force of positivity in his life.
“I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 Years!! I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Their marital life was filled with ups and downs as they experienced difficulty while having children. The pair eventually decided to adopt and are now parents to two kids, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18. Their last major public appearance together remains to be on the red carpet of the Met Gala in May.
