Indian Police Force: Shilpa Shetty Reveals Rohit Shetty Offered Her Golmaal, Says 'I Was Gutted...'
Shilpa Shetty recently revealed that director Rohit Shetty had offered her Golmaal nearly 14 years ago.

Rohit Shetty, the maestro of cop dramas, is set to introduce a powerful addition to his cop universe with Shilpa Shetty in the upcoming show ‘Indian Police Force’ on Amazon Prime Video. The trailer showcases Shilpa as a ‘Shero’ promising an unreal performance that has left fans eagerly anticipating the series. Now, Shilpa Shetty has revealed that she was also offered to star in Golmaal, nearly 14 years ago.

Shilpa said, “We were supposed to work even 14 years ago; he had approached me for Golmaal. But I had just won Big Brother and was travelling, he was doing his things… I was so gutted because when you see a brand becoming so big, you wish you were in the movie. But I am glad we are doing this amazing project together now.”

Shilpa went on to share that her father assisted Rohit’s father, Muddu Babu Shetty in the film Yaadon Ki Baaraat. Shilpa’s father, Surendra Shetty was part of the action team in Yaadon Ki Baaraat and Rafoo Chakkar.

Rohit Shetty, known for his hero-centric cop dramas, made a surprising casting choice by roping in Shilpa Shetty for a role initially designed for a hero. In a candid revelation, he shared, “This character was earlier for a hero. But then, last moment, we called her when she was shooting for Sukhee in Chandigarh. Then she was doing India’s Got Talent and she shuttled between all and made it happen. I knew she would be able to do it. She even broke her leg during an action scene.”

The upcoming series promises an entertainment extravaganza, high on action, suspense, thrill, and drama, taking audiences worldwide on an immersive journey into the next chapter of Rohit Shetty’s iconic Cop Universe. Created and directed by Rohit Shetty, the cop action drama also marks his digital directorial debut in a spectacle that is headlined by Shilpa Shetty and Sidharth Malhotra. The ensemble cast also boasts Vivek Oberoi, Shweta Tiwari, Nikitin Dheer, Rituraj Singh, Mukesh Rishi and Lalit Parimoo in pivotal roles.
