Kajol’s versatility as an actress needs no proof. From winning hearts with her impeccable performance in Baazigar to making her OTT debut with The Trial — the 49-year-old has indeed prospered in her career. The actress who was recently featured alongside Rani Mukerji in the latest episode of Koffee With Karan might star in a horror movie titled Maa, produced by her husband Ajay Devgn and directed by Chhorii fame Vishal Furia.
As per the Peeping Moon report, the film will likely go on floors in 2024. It stated, “From romance and slice-of-life to family dramas and thrillers, Kajol has acted in a wide range of genres, showcasing her versatility as an actor. However, horror is a genre she has never explored and one she has been wanting to try her hand at. So when Vishal Furia approached her with this gripping script set in a very unusual world, she instantly embraced it. It’s a world we have never seen Kajol in before, and she is madly excited to embark on this new thrilling journey.”
Meanwhile, in a recent episode of Koffee With Karan season 8, featuring Kajol and Rani Mukerji, has emerged as one of the most engaging episodes so far. The episode featured heartfelt conversations. Kajol and Rani also managed to surprise viewers with unexpected revelations.
Kajol surprised everyone by revealing that she turned down roles in popular films like 3 Idiots, Mohra, and Dil To Pagal Hai, which starred Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Shah Rukh Khan. Similarly, Rani Mukerji shared that circumstances beyond her control prevented her from being a part of Lagaan. Expressing her regret, Rani said she genuinely wanted to be part of Ashutosh Gowarikar’s film.
During the rapid-fire round, Karan Johar asked Kajol which of her husband Ajay Devgn’s films— Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Omkara, Golmaal, or Singham – she would love to be a part of. In a humorous response, Kajol said, “I don’t know if I would love to be a part of it, but I would love to be a fly on the wall on the first part of Golmaal. I would love to see the interaction on the first part. The first Golmaal, I think, was when the whole comedy started, and I think they were fantastic in that film, and I’m sure they had a lot of outtakes that I would have loved to see.”
In response to Karan Johar’s question about the Bollywood diva who remains relevant, Kajol promptly named Zeenat Aman. She said, “I think she’s outstandingly awesome, she’s true and she’s passionate and she’s real in a very very fake world.” While Karan added, “I couldn’t agree more, her insta game is fantastic.”
