In a career that spans over three decades in the showbiz industry, the actor’s professional life has indeed been full of ups and downs. From playing the role of a young boy in Jaan Tere Naam and Sainik to portraying some impactful characters on OTT and TV shows, Ronit’s journey is no less than inspiration as he has emerged as one of the most promising actors in the industry. His performances and projects are both critically and commercially acclaimed.

As the actor celebrates his 58th birthday today, let’s take a look into some of the noteworthy work that he has done in the field of entertainment including TV, movies, and OTT platforms.

Ronit Roy: TV Career

While the actor began his role with the film Jaan Tere Naam and worked in a few other films, he later ventured towards television and got his major breakthrough with Ekta Kapoor’s hit TV show, Kasautii Zindagii Kay. His performance as popular Mr Rishabh Bajaj is counted as one of his best to date and is much loved by fans.

Next, the actor was seen in the role of Mihir Virani in an iconic serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The show which was already a big hit on television brought fame to Ronit Roy for the portrayal of Mihir Virani.

Coming out of stereotypical image, Bose took up a negative character with the show Kasamh Se where he was seen in the role of Aparajit Deb. His unconventional portrayal of the character was appreciated by many.

Another television show of his career that got him much-needed recognition was NDTV Imagine’s Bandini. He portrayed the role of a ruthless diamond merchant Dharamraj Mahyavanshi, who was married to a young village girl. His transition into the character of the diamond merchant was much appreciated.

Coming out of his conventional television shows, Ronit Roy took on a courtroom drama Adalat as he portrayed the role of the sharp and smart KD Pathak. He successfully led the shows for a longer time and gained much popularity.

Besides being a successful personality on TV, the actor has also proved his mettle in the film industry. He began his career in Bollywood with the 1992 film Jaan Tere Naam following which he featured in another film titled Bomb Blast alongside Aditya Pancholi and Kishori Sahani.

Later in 2010, he featured in the film Udaan which also went on to receive critical acclaim and his work also received much appreciation.

Following this, he was seen in many other successful films like That Girl in Yellow Boots, Student of the Year, Shootout at Wadala, and Akshay Kumar starrer Boss.

He also tried on some grey characters as he appeared in the 2014 film 2 States, where he played the role of Arjun Kapoor’s father.

Following that, he played the role of the antagonist in the Hrithik Roshan starrer thriller film Kaabil.

The actor also tried his hands in the Telugu film industry with NTR Jr’s Jai Lava Kusa.

Ronit Roy: OTT

Talking about his journey on OTT, Ronit Roy made his debut with Alt Balaji’s web series Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain in 2018. He featured alongside Mona Singh and Gurdeep Kohli.

Later in 2019, he was seen in the crime thriller drama series, Hostages. The actor was also seen in thriller web series, Candy.
