Shilpa Shetty Kundra's Sukhee To Get A Sequel? Here's What We Know

Shilpa Shetty has captivated audiences with her dazzling stage performances and impeccable acting skills over the years. The actress has recently impressed all with the film Sukhee, which was received well by the critics and audiences alike. Due to such a rave response, the makers might be planning a sequel already.

As per a source close to the entertainment portal PinkVilla, while the makers are keen to make a part 2, they will also be pulling off a casting coup, “Looking at the tremendous response to Sukhee on Netflix, the makers have now decided to make Sukhee 2 with Shilpa Shetty Kundra headlining the movie again. The director and writers have begun ideating for the second installment, which will feature many actors from the first part, and a couple of new actors as well. The makers are also planning to pull off a casting coup with part 2. Once the scripting is locked, Sonal will begin with the casting process. As of now, the makers are eying to kickstart shooting in the summer of 2024,” the source shared.

Talking about the film, Shilpa Shetty previously said at the trailer launch, “Something had happened because of which I had decided that I wouldn’t be able to do the film. I wasn’t in that state of mind. So, I told them that perhaps right now, I’m not in that mind space so they should cast someone else. I even suggested two or three names of other actors who could be cast. I won’t name them of course. Vikram (Malhotra, producer) called me and said that whenever I was ready, they would take the film on floors. He adjusted everything and waited for eight months.”

She then revealed how Raj convinced her to take the opportunity. “Raj read the script when I wasn’t home. I had told him that it’s a beautiful film, but I’m not ready for it. When I returned, he told me, ‘Are you crazy? You have to do this film! He convinced me to take up the film. He forced me to do it and told me there’s a ‘Sukhee’ in all of us. If a man can think that way for a woman-oriented film…”

Sukhee also starred Kusha Kapila in a pivotal role. The story revolved around a housewife who finally breaks free from her monotonous routine and goes to Delhi for her school reunion.
